Professional Backstory: Steven graduated from the University of Missouri in 2014 after walking on to the football team from 2010-2013. In 2015, he became Precision Nutrition Level 1 Certified and founded Simple Solutions Fitness out of the back of his car. For about the first year, he hauled weights to homes and offices before settling in to share a space with two Physical therapists at Broadway Ergonomics.
In January 2017, Steven moved SSF to its current location, 3930 S Providence Rd Suite B, Columbia, Missouri 65203, near E Nifong Blvd & S Providence Rd. In 2018, he was invited to the now defunct Kansas City Fitness Summit to interview and co-author an article on business development with longtime editor and writer for Men's Health, Lou Schuler. Over 7 years as its sole employee, Steven grew SSF, hosted and spoke at numerous presentations, and developed a 13-week internship through which he hired his first employee, Maggie Hillmann.
Now he runs Simple Solutions Fitness with Maggie and is the author of all the information on the site.
Steven proudly sponsors Local motion, a nonprofit focused on transportation equity. Simple Solutions Fitness participates in Bike, Walk, and Wheel Week, a week-long series of events that encourages hundreds of people in Columbia to be more active by walking, biking, using a wheelchair or riding the bus in a fun, social setting.
